1. Purpose

Ascend GRC is committed to delivering high-quality training and certification programs that uphold governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) standards. This policy establishes guidelines for the development, delivery, and assessment of training courses and certifications to ensure credibility, compliance, and continuous improvement.


2. Scope

This policy applies to all Ascend GRC training programs, trainers, assessors, course participants, and certification processes.


3. Definitions

  • Accredited Training: Courses that meet recognised industry or regulatory standards.

  • Certification: A formal recognition that an individual has met specific competency requirements.

  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Ongoing learning to maintain and enhance professional skills.

  • Assessment Standards: Criteria used to evaluate learner competency and certification eligibility.

5. Training & Certification Framework

  • Course Development: Training programs are designed to align with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and adult learning principles.

  • Trainer & Assessor Qualifications: Trainers must have relevant industry experience and meet competency requirements.

  • Assessment & Certification: Participants must complete competency-based assessments to earn certifications.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Credit may be granted for previous training or professional experience.

  • CPD & Recertification: Certification holders must engage in ongoing learning and periodic recertification.


6. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Courses will be reviewed annually for relevance and compliance.

  • Assessment procedures will be audited to ensure fairness and consistency.

  • Certification integrity will be maintained through secure issuance and verification processes.


7. Related Legislation & Standards

  • Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Standards (where applicable).

  • Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) Framework (if relevant).

  • ISO 21001: Educational Organizations Management Systems.

  • ISO 17024: Conformity Assessment – General Requirements for Certification Bodies.


8. Review & Approval

This policy will be reviewed annually by the Training & Certification Committee to ensure its effectiveness and compliance.
