Anti-Slavery Policy
1. Purpose
Ascend GRC is committed to upholding human rights and ethical business practices by ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking do not occur within its operations or supply chains. This policy aligns with the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) and international best practices to prevent, identify, and address modern slavery risks.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, board members, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders involved in Ascend GRC’s operations and supply chains.
3. Definitions
Modern Slavery: Practices including forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, child labour, and other forms of exploitation as defined by the Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth).
Supply Chain: All external entities providing goods or services to Ascend GRC, including subcontractors and consultants.
4. Policy Statement
Ascend GRC is dedicated to:
Preventing modern slavery in its operations and supply chains.
Conducting due diligence on suppliers and partners.
Promoting ethical sourcing and procurement practices.
Encouraging transparency and accountability in all business dealings.
Providing training on modern slavery risks to employees and stakeholders.
5. Risk Assessment & Due Diligence
Ascend GRC will:
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential modern slavery risks within its supply chains.
Require suppliers to complete due diligence questionnaires on their labour practices.
Include contractual obligations for suppliers to comply with anti-slavery laws.
Regularly review procurement and partnership arrangements for compliance.
